NNIS is the moniker that German interdisciplinary artist Jakob Sinn uses for his sound works. Coming from a background in drumming, he has also been active as an experimental sound artist for several years. In his largely improvised performances, he works primarily with field recordings and found objects, which often establish a contextual relationship to the respective site. Parts of the drum set may also be used, though rarely as a conventional percussion instrument, but rather as a source of timbre and frequency.
